I’m on a Google Adwords kick…if you are a Maine bed and breakfast and you Google one of THE top search phrases: “Maine bed and breakfasts” – what’s your presence? Are you on the first page? Second? Are you a subscriber to one of the directories that is on the first page? If you aren’t on the first page, you should consider a Google ad campaign. In a tough market, there are more bed and breakfasts looking to fill rooms with fewer travelers. Even more reason to upgrade your website and advertise. And it can be done inexpensively. But it’s so important to your future buyer. They do ask about advertising when considering purchasing. A buyer wants to know that they don’t have to start from scratch or if they do, they’ll expect to pay less. Plain and simple. Just something for sellers to keep in mind.
If you don’t want to spend the money for a Google ad campaign, then use Social Media and blogging and broadcast your business yourself. It takes time, but no money. There isn’t anything out there that advertises free. You have to give it either time or money or both.
