Quite honestly, winning the People's Choice really was a surprise to me!
When I submitted four recipes to Cellardoor several months back, soup was appropriate, given the temperature. And the soup recipe was the one that was chosen for the competition. I didn't think about the fact that I'd be serving it late June!
But today, Mother Nature was a little crazy and we didn't reach 60. So competing with a soup recipe wasn't so crazy. And although I didn't win the judges choice, people's choice is more than good enough. After all, I do have the hospitality bug and love to make people happy. And if my soup (with bacon, caramelized onions, poblanos and lots of butter, cream and topped with lobster) made the guests happy, that makes me happy!
