It's been a busy 2017 so far! My fourth closing in four months. That's a pretty good pace (keep in mind, businesses don't sell at the same pace as a private home) and buyers are loving Maine (so are tourists if you've seen my post on 2016 being a record year for Maine tourism)! Rates are climbing slightly, but they remain historically low. No time better than the present to do something you've long considered, for tomorrow is not promised... |

Atlantean Cottage in Bar Harbor sold on February 15th and Atlantic Birches Inn in Old Orchard Beach sold on March 3rd. Coincidentally, both inns were built in 1903 and were built by famous Maine architects, Fred Savage (Atlantean) and John Calvin Stevens (Atlantic Birches). Both have beautiful period decor and will be enjoyed by the innkeepers and guests for many years to come. We wish the buyers and sellers all the best and welcome the buyers to the innkeeping world!
So back to work...I had Coach Stop Inn under contract which closed on March 10th. New buyers are wonderful people from Georgia whose black lab Buddy had no idea what to make of the snow, if you get what I mean! But after a couple days, he figured it out. At present, I have Maples Inn under contract and just recently put Open Hearth Inn under contract! An offer is pending on another listing of mine, so it's been a very busy winter into spring. No complaints here. And I am SO lucky to be working with some really great buyers and sellers (since I'm representing both sides on all of these transactions). Next week I'm headed to a conference in Vermont for the National Association of Realtors, called Tech Edge. "This one-day, technology packed conference will feature a carefully-chosen, super-smart lineup of seasoned, well-respected real estate professionals from 5 states with over 200 YEARS of cumulative experience. We'll discuss, dissect and teach about how to use, why to use and what to use in today's ever-changing industry." So I'm thrilled to have been asked to be a speaker this year. This will be my inaugural presentation with NAR! I'll speak about online branding, marketing to the iConsumer, the Millennial, SEO and blogging and much more.
That's enough for now. There will be more to report next post, I promise! ![]() Congratulations to my clients and new innkeepers, Russ & Meg and to my colleague Rick's seller, Margot! We wish you all the best in your future endeavors! _ Congratulations to both sellers and buyers, on behalf of The Swan Agency Sotheby's International Realty, I wish them all much success!
