Grey Havens Inn
If you are looking for an authentic Maine getaway perched high on a bluff with spectacular ocean views, Grey Havens Inn is it. This historic Georgetown inn was built in 1904 and offers today’s modern conveniences and charm. Situated along the craggy Atlantic coast, this boutique hotel offers 13 guest rooms with private baths and features breathtaking ocean views from its wrap-around covered porch and throughout the inn. Grey Havens has frequently been referred to as a ‘castle-by-the-sea’ with its two tall round turrets. Its imposing majesty on the Maine coastline is so proud and clear that the inn is often used as a navigational aid by sailors and local lobstermen. Facing East, the sunrises are truly inspiring – for the early risers among you – and the full moon radiates and shimmers across the water.
Entry from the porch brings you into the foyer with the grand living and dining rooms to each side. A massive stone fireplace in the living room serves as a natural gathering place for guests, whether they choose to relax in a cozy chair and read or enjoy the view through the large window looking onto the porch and ocean beyond. The view from the 40 seat dining room is just as special. A beautiful open stairway brings you to the second and third floors, where guest rooms are located, all with private baths. The four-round turret rooms are truly romantic with 270-degree panoramic ocean views. The Sunrise Suite has its own large balcony, a quiet haven within the Havens. All rooms, except the Cottage room, have full or limited ocean views. A spot on the covered porch cannot be beat!
