At-a-Glance:
6 ROOMS - all have private baths, some with fireplaces, all king and queen beds, custom upholstery. A nice lot perched high above Route 1 in walking distance to town and a great view of the Penobscot Bay. The Inn has been renovated top to bottom, mechanically and aesthetically throughout and is in excellent condition.
The original section (the smaller portion to the right of the porch) was built by Jesse Thomas in 1790 and the large porch section was added by Captain Pendleton in 1860. The current owners performed major renovations between 2005 and 2006 including all new mechanical, new electric wiring, cable and data pulled to all rooms; the roof replaced, bathrooms renovated; all furniture, furnishings, window treatment, decor and light fixtures, all new. Furnishings and interior paint colors were chosen to match the period. Hardwood floors were restored and new were installed. The feeling you get when you walk in is that you've stepped back in time but in comfortable luxury.
Owners quarters are beautiful and spacious and designed in the same historic decor as the inn, with beautiful hardwood floors and antique style lighting to match the period. There is a very large parlor, spacious bedroom, office/second bedroom, full bath, private entrance. The inn's kitchen is private, spacious with dining table space, access to the porch (makes serving breakfast on the porch easy), and off the kitchen is a very large laundry and pantry area. Two car detached garage and shed are directly behind the inn.
Square Footage: 4,700 on two floors
Lot Size - 1 acre
