Those who know me understand that I have a nearly insatiable creative appetite and a need to keep the wheels in motion. I have my hands in quite a bit these days, and yet it all fits within my niche. I've written a cookbook; I'm a hobby photographer; I am a photo contributor for various local magazines; I photo blog for various sites as well as maintain my own Maine travel based and general food photo blogs; I sell real estate, primarily inns, B&B's and recreational properties throughout the state; I am also an innkeeper (The Pomegranate Inn in Portland with my husband); I am well versed in social media and marketing and love to share my knowledge with others. I'm an advocate for all things Maine, Maine tourism and Maine commerce. I'm a complete foodie and am having a great time sampling the creations by all of the amazingly talented Maine chefs. I manage to fulfill a number of my passions on a daily basis. That's a really good thing. Some days (many) I am so busy that I don't sit down until 6pm after being up before 5am. But I am doing what I love to do. Regardless of what I am doing and where I'm doing it, I have my laptop, iPhone, iPad, wi-fi and the capability and desire to respond without missing a beat. I have an assistant innkeeper which affords me the time to run around as real estate or the cookbook promotion requires. But being back in the innkeeping game allows me to keep my finger on the pulse of today's hospitality industry. That was important to me. I fully understand how time is precious and how social media, though so important, is not so easy to keep up with as an innkeeper. I now have to practice what I preach! If only I could add hours to the day, I doubt I would sleep more.
